Ok a newcomer on the micro-blogging scene.  With the simplicity of Twitter but without the downtime and lack of new features.

Plurk is a new micro blogging site that is similar to twitter but has a few differences.

  • No SMS yet
  • Timeline looks like a real timeline
  • Reply to plurks directly and have them appear.
  • Karma points
  • Share stuff easier.

Meanwhile we have seemingly daily Twitter outages.  Ok granted Plurk is down right now it seems to scale better and the features make twitter seem like a 90’s website.

Not to say that twitter does NOT have it’s place it’s been a great platform for micro-blogging and it’s popularity is second to none.

Time will tell what Plurk with do in the next bit as people begin to pour onto it’s servers.

The biggest thing I’m missing is SMS updates.  But they SAY they’re coming soon so we’ll see.
