Vector Magic gone commercial

Thumbnail by ThumbshotsJust an update to my post on Vector Magic was a free tool from Standford that created vector images from bitmaps.  (A bitmap image is basically made of data that says make this pixel red this one green, vector images have data that says draw a green line , make a red square).  Well to make a buck they’ve sold out and are now charging for their service.  Read More Below...

It’s a bit on the pricey side a single image will cost you about $2.63 until March 5th when the price rises to $3.50.   I’m all for making money but it seems a bit steep.  There are buld discounts and they are promising a desktop application.  (Which would make a lot more sense)

So while still technically a great product I can’t say it’s a free service anymore.   I’ll let you know if I like their Windows client.

On a side note as of my posting this the thumbshot hasn’t been updated and yeah that looks like a GoDaddy page.
