An update on the Gmail situation. First it’s working GREAT. It took a LOT to upload my older messages but now instead of the power of Google Desktop, or Copernic Desktop search I have Gmail search for my messages. It seems a LOT LOT LOT faster when searching PLUS I don’t have the added overhead of indexing on my local machine. Read More Below...
But there is the overlying question, does it work for me day to day? The answer is YES
wait for it, wait for it
BUT there are a couple issues
- Wrong Sender – When writing sometimes I will send a client a message I wanted from my business email from my personal gmail address. Yes the reply goes to the same place it can be a little confusing.
- Lack of filters for groups of contacts - This was GREAT way in thunderbird to filter all my clients by just adding their name to a contact list.
- Contact List Management – There’s no good way to group contacts or see what groups they are in. Downloading the list doesn’t work as groupings are not downloaded.
Overall a pretty good experience the few issues I have are simple enough to work around that I’m going to keep on using it for the time being.
