I heard about Jott from a podcast and thought HEY that’s pretty neat.  So I tried it and son of a gun it worked.  I was able to send text messages and emails from my phone.  Pretty sweet.  Soon I was reminding myself to look up websites I heard about on a podcast when I got home from driving.  Yeah!  THEN I added my personal assistant Sandy to my Jott contacts and it REALLY took off.   I could not only send myself text messages but schedule appointments and reminders.

Jott works with a bunch of other services and sites Google Calendar, Tumblr, Remember the Milk, I want Sandy and even Amazon.com. You post to your blog or, or SMS someone.  It’s just a simple transcription that the people at Jott made flexible enough to work for almost anyone.

A few of the questions and concerns are with privacy during transcription because Jott uses a combination of computerized and human transcription methods.  To alleviate concerns they use a process similar to medical transcribers.  While the CONTENT of the Jott is sent the identifying information such as name and email address associated with the Jott account is NOT sent.   SO unless you send identifying information in your Jott itself it’s improbable that anyone will know your business.

Once again another FREE service.  Granted only 30 seconds but you know the saying, if you can’t say it in 30, it’s probably something dirty. Or just more than 30 seconds you you’re writing a book I reckons.  http://www.jott.com
