I found a cool site from Stanford (yes that Stanford) which lets you take a bitmap image such as a JPEG, GIF and turn it into a vector image that you can download as a EPS or SVG. Why would anybody want to do this? Say you have a tiny logo you want to resize. Most of the time when you resize it larger (and sometimes smaller) you get artifacts or distortion. Not very pretty.
