Thumbnail by ThumbshotsCurrently the country is in a great debate about illegal immigration.  The  matter is still under consideration to say the least and this is not about that subject.  We often forget about how immigration has touched many of our lives as most of us have immigrant blood in our veins.   There is a monument located on Ellis Island beneath the shadow of Lady Liberty that commemorates our national heritage.  Ok now you’re wondering where the gift comes in. Read More Below...

For a contribution of $150 you can have a name engraved on the wall.  The monument does only requires one thing.  That the person be an immigrant.  Whether through Ellis Island or another point of entry they are welcome to be added in this celebration of immigration.

The monument was designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates who were the creative minds behind the moving Holocaust museum and currently contains over 700,000 names from every inhabited continent on our planet.

While it seems that our country is focused on the negative aspects of  illegal immigration.   It’s the legal immigration that has made our country great. This is a great way to honor and remember our heritage.
